Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov along with senior officers inspected the Garaheybat training center on October 13, Azernews reports, citing the Defense Ministry.

Hasanov inquired about the progress of the officer course held for military personnel at the tank training area of ​​the Azerbaijani Army Training and Education Center.

The minister was informed that the participants practiced techniques for the successful use of tanks and combat vehicles in human settlements based on their expertise of ongoing combat operations.

Hasanov then visited the simulation center, where sophisticated technology is used to conduct fire control training. The soldiers gave a demonstration of practical shooting using mortar pieces. The minister visited the firing range of the training center to observe the personnel carrying out shooting exercises with small arms and grenade launchers.

The defense chief also reviewed a classroom with driving and shooting simulators designed to improve military driving and shooting skills. Hasanov was told that trainees learn proper targeting and shooting tactics using virtual simulators.

Hasanov examined combat vehicles and artillery pieces in the classroom, where the tactical and technical aspects of various types of artillery pieces, as well as the rules for their use, are taught.

The minister was informed that qualified professionals from the training center use the experience gained during the 44-day war, as well as modern combat operations in the educational process to strengthen the combat training and special tactical capabilities of the military.

Hasanov also met with the course participants and inquired about their concerns, highlighting the recent reforms of the Azerbaijani army, especially in the field of military education.

Hasanov advised the participants to constantly improve their knowledge and abilities, as well as to become professional officers to further improve the defensive capability of the Azerbaijani army.

Finally, the minister gave instructions to the administration of the National Defense University on how to organize and conduct the courses properly.
