Atlantic County Police Training Center to Host Alternate Route Testing

Become a police officer through the alternate route.

EGG HARBOR TOWNHIP – The Atlantic County Police Training Center will conduct testing for those interested in participating in the Basic Alternate Route Course program for police officers in the spring of 2023. The test will be administered at 18 p.m. on Monday, September 26 at the Canale Training Center, 5033 English Creek Ave.

The Alternate Route Program was designed to give those interested in becoming a police officer the opportunity to undergo training, at their own expense, before being hired by a law enforcement agency.

Applicants must have 60 college credits or two years of active military service. Applications are available at www.PoliceApp.com. There is a $100 non-refundable application fee. A maximum of 100 applications for the test will be accepted.

Although successful completion of the 22-week program does not guarantee a candidate a position in law enforcement, graduates may pursue employment as a certified police officer for a period of three years from the date graduation.
